Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations before leaving. New families should arrange an independent veterinary appointment promptly so ongoing vaccination and parasite-prevention planning can continue.

Maintaining a puppy's health requires consistent care after placement. New owners are responsible for:

- Regular parasite prevention and recommended vaccinations
- Prompt veterinary attention when illness or injury is suspected
Written protection
Our Two-Year Health Guarantee Promise
Each puppy placement includes a written two-year health guarantee beginning when the family receives the puppy. The guarantee addresses qualifying serious congenital or hereditary conditions diagnosed during the first two years of life.
Conditions the guarantee covers
- Clinically significant congenital heart defects
- Serious inherited cardiomyopathy or heart abnormalities
- Severe hereditary hip or elbow dysplasia
- Genetically inherited degenerative myelopathy when clinically diagnosed
- Serious congenital kidney, liver or neurological disorders
- Hereditary thyroid disease that substantially affects health
- Serious congenital eye disorders causing substantial vision loss
- Other life-altering congenital or hereditary defects confirmed by appropriate testing
Requirements for guarantee coverage
To preserve eligibility, the buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving the puppy and maintain routine veterinary care, appropriate nutrition, suitable activity, recommended vaccinations and parasite prevention.
A covered condition must be diagnosed in writing by a licensed veterinarian. A second independent opinion or relevant specialist assessment may be requested. If a qualifying condition is confirmed, the remedy described in the signed puppy agreement applies.
What the guarantee does not cover
- Injury, accident, poisoning, abuse or neglect
- Illness linked to inadequate nutrition or improper care
- Contagious illness contracted after leaving our care
- Fleas, ticks, intestinal worms or other treatable parasites
- Temporary or minor conditions that do not materially affect quality of life
- Environmental allergies or sensitivities
- Minor umbilical hernias or undescended testicles unless medically serious
- Cosmetic features, coat shade, markings, size or predicted adult weight
- Dental alignment, reproductive ability or suitability for breeding or showing
- Conditions caused by obesity, physical trauma or excessive activity
- Veterinary expenses unless specifically authorized in writing
The signed agreement controls. Exact coverage, documentation, claim timing and remedies are defined in the puppy's written sales agreement. This guarantee does not replace veterinary care or pet insurance.
